With the recent feature down at Imgur, I decided to write a journal to clear some FAQs;
EDIT!! I Added info regarding commissions and use of Red Knights.
>What is Red Knights/Beacon/Bacon?
-Red Knights is a story me and a friend of mine are working on for fun during our free time, we like to exercise on world-building so we decided to create a world called Beacon (temp name) and create characters that exist within it, one of which is the Order of the Red Knights, which is something we're focus on at the moment.
The main premise of the world revolves around beam of lights called "Beacons" which acts as a giant 'X' on a map. Treasures and hidden technologies are buried under these Beacons and is pretty much being contested by many factions of the world, Red Knights included. The Red Knights story isn't concrete yet as it's gone through couple of iterations already, and will probably go through more changes the more we progress. For now, the artwork done only serves as a point of exploration on how we could come up a consistent design through the entire Order,
On other note, Bacon's really really really good though.
>Are they blind/How can they see?
-As mentioned before, this is a project made for fun, we didn't expect we'd get the attention it's getting now and with new audience means lots of confusion about the design choices. We haven't really given much thought about it yet, but the initial idea we have is that the designs is a depiction on how their God might look like to them. So each character has different interpretations on how their God might look like/what helmet is he wearing.
And how can they see? Magic.
>What are their weapons made of?/Holding them must hurt.
-Idea we had for the weapons is that they're actually a spell passed down through out the entire Order. They're pretty close to the Spellblade class in games as they utilize magic to conjure weapons, so yep, they don't actually get burned by their own magic.
>Is this going to be a Game/Animation/Comics?
-Truth is that we're still exploring the best medium we could the story in. For now, we have our sights on graphic novels, though estimated time for completion for that one would be close to more than 2 years, since we both have our full-time work and not a lot of time with freelance and commissions on my side. So don't expect anything anytime soon, this is a passion project and is being completely made without any financial backing, we would like to take our time with it so that we could come up with the best, satisfying story for us creators.
>Do you need help with anything? I got a few ideas I want to pitch in.
-Thank you all for any idea submissions you might have, though I will have to decline your offer to help us as we feel that we should stay true to our vision as close as possible. A lot of people wanted to pitch in some ideas, though I would say that it would be better if you applied those ideas and create an IP for yourself, as it's more rewarding that way. We really appreciate the support, but you, acknowledging what we do and what we've already done is more than enough support.
>The Puppetmaster/The Ranger's outfit is unfit for battle, therefore I don't like them because tits and skin.
-Well, that's just like, your opinion man. Also, Berserker's doesn't have any armor on the torso, which is technically more skin exposed than the other two characters. I have no intention on changing the design, so if you find them offensive, kindly go through the exit located to your right.
Do you take commissions at the moment?
-Sadly, I have my hands full with some long-term freelance gigs and my full-time job, I won't be open until later this year I think, so do check back around that time.
However, should your need is urgent, do let me know and I'll forward some contacts I know who can help you out.
Can I use your characters for my D&D/Pathfinder/Tabletop game?
-As much as I enjoy the exposure, I get numerous requests like this and I got to say is that I'll have to decline. I'm still a bit sceptical about doing this as people might just snag one of them off and run away with it and gain $$$ from it. So please understand if I'm being too cautious, it's just that this project is really close to me and that I'd hate that it could be ruined by a brief moment when a fucker would decide to take all the hard work done for themselves.
On the other hand, cosplays of it is fine.
Again, thanks for understanding.
